SIMAnalysis

Lap Information

Read FastSim lap times, speeds, accelerations, fuel use, and throttle metrics in the Lap Data table.

The Lap Data table below Simulation Summary shows times, speeds, accelerations, and fuel use for each FastSim lap.

Open lap information

  1. Open Simulations and select a completed FastSim run.
  2. Open Summary.
  3. Scroll to Lap Data.
  4. Use column headers to sort the lap metrics.

The table starts in lap-number order. Lap zero, the outing lap, appears as Out. Older summaries without lap numbers show the row position instead.

Read the columns

ColumnMeaningDisplay unit
LapRecorded lap number, or Out for lap zero.None
TimeTime for the lap.Minutes and seconds, with three decimal places
V MaxMaximum speed.km/h
V MinMinimum speed.km/h
V AvgAverage speed.km/h
Ax MaxMaximum longitudinal acceleration.m/s²
Ay MaxMaximum lateral acceleration.m/s²
Fuel UsedFuel consumed during the lap.kg
Fuel RemainingFuel remaining for the recorded lap.kg
WOTPWide-open-throttle percentage.%
Gear MaxHighest recorded gear.Gear number

Missing values appear as a dash, not zero. Gear Max also shows a dash when the recorded value is not positive.

Compare laps

Sort Time to find the fastest and slowest laps, then compare their speed and fuel columns.

The table cannot tell you where on the circuit the laps differ. For that, open Detailed Analysis and select the laps in the Simulations panel. Add the channels you want to compare and move the cursor along their traces.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to check
No Lap Data tableThe table requires a nonempty FastSim lap summary. Check the simulation type and result availability.
OpenSim has no lap tableThis is expected. OpenSim uses a duration-based summary; inspect its traces in Detailed Analysis.
A metric shows a dashThat value was not available in the recorded lap summary.
Need a metric not listed hereOpen Detailed Analysis and add the relevant telemetry channel to your layout.
